Self-Defense

All techniques should be executed with Extreme Control.
Do not attempt to learn techniques until one of the instructors has taught it to you.
Self-defense is taught with defensive and offensive techniques. However, in real situations, it is not always desirable to complete the technique with an offensive attack.

Advance to Yellow Belt
1. Holding both wrists - release, block, high punch, mid punch
2. Holding both wrists - step back, open arms, front kick
3. Holding one wrist - step back, side kick, front kick (or round kick)
4. Holding one wrist two hands - grab own hand, release, double knife attack
5. Choking with both hands - double palm ear strike, reinforced block, mid back fist, high punch
6. Choking with both hands - double elbow block, double knife attack
7. Choking with both hands - finger push to throat
8. Choking with one hand - step back release, side kick
9. Choking with both hands (back) - circular elbow-lock block, punch, punch
10. Front body hold (arms outside) - double palm ear strike, push to nose base

Advance to Green Belt

1. Holding both wrists - release, block, high back fist (same hand), mid punch (opposite)
2. Holding one wrist - double knife release
3. Holding one wrist (side or back) - turning knife attack (or elbow)
4. Holding both wrists (back) - under-arm release, knife attack
5. Choking with both hands - elbow block, outer block, high knife attack, mid punch
6. Choking with one hand - step back outer block, turn, mid back elbow, low knife attack
7. Choking with both hands (back) - step away mid knife attack horse stance, side kick
8. Head lock (back) - turn head, grab wrists, mid back elbow, low knife attack
9. Front body hold (arms inside) - double mid knife attack, low knee, high forehead attack
10. Back body hold (arms inside) - stamp feet, shift sideways, low knife attack

Advance to Blue Belt

1. Holding both wrists - release, block, high knife (same hand), ridge hand attack (opposite)
2. Holding one wrist - palm push release (grab own wrist)
3. Holding both wrists (back) - downward release (horse stance), back elbow block, knife, punch
4. Holding both wrists (floor) - knee push with double arm extension release, roll out
5. Choking with both hands (floor) - knee push with double outer block, roll out
6. Choking with one hand - step in circular arm lock, high palm attack
7. Choking with one hand (arm bent) - grab wrist (at thumb) and elbow, twist arm back outside
8. Head lock (down side) - finger push at nose base (rotate back), knee lift
9. Knife/gun threat (close up) - pivot in place with forearm block, grab, high punch
10. Back knife/gun threat (close up) - pivot in place with forearm block, high punch

Advance to Brown Belt
1. Holding both wrists - release, step behind arm lock, neck control
2. Holding one wrist - grab hand, wrist pressure control
3. Holding one wrist (side) - turning mid knife block, high knife attack (same hand), side kick
4. Holding both wrists (back) - look, back kick, back kick
5. Choking with both hands - step back sideways, downward circular, high knife, high ridge
6. Choking with one hand - wrist release, step in press elbow downward
7. Choking with both hands - press elbow down, wrist release, step in press elbow downward
8. Head lock (down side) - reach across grab, roll in, throw over
9. Straight punch to face - dodge to the side, high side block, round kick
10. Knife threat straight (away) - outer crescent block, step in guard and high punch

Advance to Black Belt
1. Holding both wrists - release, crescent foot push block, front kick (same foot)
2. Choking with both hands - step back sideways, downward circular, turning head lock, punch
3. Choking with both hands (back) - side horse stance mid knife attack, outer block, front elbow
4. Back body hold (arms outside) - high back elbow, high back elbow, step behind takedown
5. Back body hold (arms inside) - stamp feet, drop down double elbow release, back elbow
6. Knife attack (straight) - step back inner forearm block, side kick, step behind takedown
7. Knife attack (downward) - step in high X block, turning arm lock on shoulder, back elbow
8. Knife attack (downward) - step in high X block, step behind elbow lock
9. Straight two punch to face - outer block, outer block, U shaped punch
10. Two people holding one wrist each - block, attacks, and/or sweeps
