Topics 1. New Ideas You have an idea you want to turn into a successful product, or maybe you want to come up with a new idea. Either way, you’ll learn three approaches to creating or enhancing a new product idea. And in times when you’re stuck, you’ll learn methods to improving your creativity. 2. Roadmap to Success Following a roadmap helps you get from one place to another. In this seminar, you’ll learn the Market-Step process – the sequence of steps from idea to launch. An overview of the entire process is presented while focusing from the idea stage to prototype creation. We’ll go through the process with a series of discussions, examples, and exercises. 3. Product Success and Pitfalls There are common causes for product failure as well as factors for success. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel and repeat the mistakes of others. In this section, you’ll discover the pitfalls that you need to avoid, and the factors for product success you need to follow. 4. Protecting Your Idea Knowing the methods to protecting your ideas are important. You’ll discover the patent ins and outs – what’s patentable, the costs, how to search, when to file, and more. We’ll also discuss the type of protection offered by trademarks, copyrights, and non-disclosure agreements. 5. Licensing Your Idea Licensing is giving a company permission to manufacture, distribute, and sell a product based on your idea. You’ll discover if licensing is for you. You’ll learn the licensing process – how to find companies, how to approach them, and understand what they want. You’ll learn how to prepare a licensing proposal that will stand-out from the crowd. In addition, you’ll learn what goes into a licensing agreement such as royalties and exclusivity. 6. Market Research Market research is essential to understand who your future customer is, their needs and wants, and how to stimulate them to buy your product. To obtain market research data, you'll learn how to search and find free resources. We'll cover what information is important to know and the questions you need to answer. 7. Self-Evaluation Before spending thousands of dollars on a patent, you’ll want to make sure your product idea is marketable and commercially viable. Our goal is to turn your idea into a winning product. We’ll evaluate your idea to see if there is a need, create benefits and advantages to entice the customer, and calculate your financial reward. 8. How Your Customer Thinks Your potential customers would rather buy than be "sold." This seminar will take you inside your customer's head to learn the psychological process of buying. You'll discover the "who, how, and when" of buying, and how to capitalize on the process. 9. Concept Evaluation Your idea is liked by friends and colleagues but will it fly in the market? You'll need feedback to see if you're on the right track. You'll learn survey and interview techniques to get an understanding of how well your product will succeed. You'll know how to approach people, what questions to ask, and the ones to avoid. 10. Prototype Development and Evaluation Companies,
investors, and evaluators want to see a prototype. You'll learn the various
methods to create a prototype, how to work with a designer, and getting
your prototype produced. In addition, I'll lead you through methods to
