Retail Program to Get Your Product
into Major Retailers

Your Situation: You have a product in the market or in final development and want to get into retail stores.

     Typically, inventors and entrepreneurs call retailers on their own, only to be rejected. I've been have told this over and over.

Why do products get rejected? Because retailers want to know how your product will bring people into their stores and sell. And retailers want to know that you have the manufacturing and fulfillment abilities to deliver as needed.

      Every square foot of retail space is worth a dollar amount. Inventors who call retailers, or blindly mail booklets, talk about their idea in terms of features, functions, and innovation, but there's a disconnect between the inventor's point of view, and the retailers.

     Having direct contacts, I'll help you get into retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart, Walgreens, Michaels, Kroger, Safeway, Petco, and others.

Step 1: Retail Strategy Meeting

In this first meeting I'll guide you through the overall retail process. We'll discuss where you are at now, where you want to be, and how to go forward.

     We will cover your product, packaging, pricing, costs, and other marketing issues. And determine the retailers that are appropriate for your product.

     By the end of the conversation, I'll give you suggestions, recommendations, and the next steps to take.

     After ordering, you will receive a product questionnaire to help us prepare for the meeting. Fill out the questionnaire and email it to me. The questionnaire also asks for the best days and times you're available to talk on the phone. I'll contact you and we'll set up a conference call.

Step 2. Product Review and Product Plan

     Before approaching a retailer and to prevent being rejected by the retail buyer you need to be adequately prepared. I will personally review your product, packaging, pricing, and marketing materials and create a product plan for you.

     The product plan will cover all the important issues that need to be completed based on how a retailer will make an evaluation. This is a specific plan for your product. Having this product plan tells the buyer you are serious, organized, and will have everything in place to deliver. The fee for the product review and product plan will depend on your situation.

Step 3. Contact Retailers

     I'll search for up to 10 retailers that are the best fit for your product. I'll make a personal contact, get the buyer interested in your product, submit your product information and follow-up. The fee for making contact and presenting your product will depend on your situation.

Step 4. Retail Management

     Once retailers are interested in your product, there are product issues that need to be managed including accepting orders, warehousing, shipping, data, and sales. I'll work with you to make sure things flow smoothly.
